Focusing on the use of Fire Extinguishers

All buildings, residential, farm or commercial should be equipped with a fire extinguisher and be easily accessible. There are different types of fire extinguishers so be prepared and purchase the proper fire extinguisher for your intended use. More than one fire extinguisher is advised depending on the size of the building.

Fire Extinguisher Hot Tips:

• Tip #1: Remember you have limited supply so be diligent on the application of extinguishing agent
• Tip #2: Hold the fire extinguisher upright when attempting to extinguish the fire
• Tip #3: Pull the pin
• Tip #4: Guide and aim the nozzle at the base of the fire to efficiently extinguish the flames
• Tip #5: Begin squeezing the handle while you are making your approach to the fire
• Tip #6: Aim at the base of the fire
• Tip #7: Sweep from side to side
• Tip #8: Know that there can be a chance the fire re-ignites
