Claims Team Lead

Usborne & Hibbert (U&H) Mutual Fire Insurance Company is looking for a Claims Team Lead to join our growing team! You will lead the claims team in collaborating with all departments to provide excellent claims service.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and respond to reports of claims, accurately documenting and filing incident details
  • Leverage your experience and investigative skills to provide high-quality decisions to property, farm, automobile, and commercial insurance claim settlements
  • Ensure claims practices conform to legal, regulatory, consumer-first, compliance and privacy obligations
  • Monitor claims activity, identifying trends and opportunities for improvements
  • Manage prudent reserving practices and opening and closing of files
  • Develop claims policies, procedures, and service delivery guidelines
  • Complete claims reports and statistics

Qualifications

  • University/college degree or diploma – Insurance preferred
  • CIP designation, or equivalent combination of insurance education and experience
  • 3+ years claims experience, with supervisory or team leader
    experience preferred
  • Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation preferred
